Models: frequently asked questions

To graduate, students will need 2 models per permanent makeup area - Lips, Eyeliner, Nano Brows, and Ombre Brows (8 total). Models pay $75 per service - these services are typically $500-$700.

  1. Where can I look for models?
    • FaceBook groups, your neighbors, friends/family, the gym, esthetician/cosmetology schools, church, your nail or hairstylist.... get creative! The worst they can say is no.
  2. How should I ask them to be my model?
    • Great question! Upon enrollment, you will get a script that you can use to reach out to models.
    • Remember, these appointments:
      • 1.) Include a full, 30-minute consultation in which they can get all questions answered  2.) Are 100% supervised by the instructor to ensure models always love their results, and 3.) They are receiving a $600+ service for just $75! Sell it!
  3. What if I can't get all 8 models?
    • If you cannot book all 8 models within the course timeframe, you will have to make up the remaining models on your own time after the course before we can award your certificate. We allow students to come in during subsequent classes or on days where instructors are available in the studio.
  4. What if I have extra models?
    • Amazing! You can do extra models for more practice, or, if a classmate is in need of a model and the model consents to another student, you can help them fill their spot.

Model appointments are a critical portion of this course and it is extremely important that you have at least 8 models during this class. If you are having trouble finding models, we can try to help fill a spot, but cannot guarantee models to any students and our help should only be used in emergency cases, like a last minute cancelation. Additionally, booking your own models not only allows you to get an optimal amount of practice during the course, but also teaches valuable self-marketing skills. We find that students who are able to recruit the most models are often the most successful after the course!  It is an important learning experience to find and schedule your own models, as this is what you will need to do for your own clientele after you graduate.

Important note: Models CANNOT HAVE PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP in the area they are going to get done as a model. If they have very faded, old permanent makeup to the point that it is barely noticeable, students may get approval from Simone. However, it is easier for students to learn and understand the techniques if their model is a "clean slate".
